The new Elizabeth Richardson Quilt Gallery is opening February 24, 2012, to host the Elizabeth Richardson Collection, which are quilts from the late 1930s through the late 1950s. It includes 13 quilts and 26 historic textile samples, as well as photos of quilts from that time and other memorabilia. In addiition to featuring quilts and textiles from the Richardson Collection, the opening of the Richardson Gallery will showcase 15 variations of star pattern quilts that were selected from other parts of the Kentucky Museum Quilt Collection.
The Gallery, along with the permanent Elizabeth Richardson Collection, will have exhibits with a rotating selection of quilts and textiles.
