/ April 13, 2010So what is the point of moving the show to Cincinnati?

/ April 14, 2010I don’t have anything official, but I heard that the expense for meals, lodging, and parking are very high in Rosemont, and that the IQA was looking for a less expensive venue.
That would make sense to me. Just the parking alone cost $22 per day to park near the convention center and $13 per day to park a block away. I don’t know yet what it will cost when I get there Thursday.

/ July 29, 2010One of the great things about moving to Cincinnati is that people who can’t travel to Chicago or Houston will finally have the opportunity to attend what I’ve heard is a fabulous show. There are lots of quilters and quilt lovers in our area. I can’t wait to go and will only have to travel an hour to get there!

/ January 18, 2011I am so sorry to hear that the Chicago International Quilt
Festival was moved to Cincinnati. That was always the Hi Lite of the spring season. Don’t know if I will make it to Cincinnati. My son worked right across the street from the Rosemont convention center, so I always made the trip from my home in Duncan, NE to Chicago and he would drop me off at the center for classes etc. When I received the booklet, I wondered why they would have the show in Cincannati the same time as the Chicago show. I only missed twice because of grandchildren’s events . So sorry to hear that.

/ February 21, 2011Wow, I am blown away. I just found out that the quilt show will not be in Chicago this year. That is upsetting for me, as I am handicapped and traveling is not possible. I live 30 minutes from Rosemont, so I always looked forward to spring and the quilt show. I hope you reconsider and return the show to Chicago next year. Maybe find another town in the area that would be cheaper.

/ February 28, 2011schocked!!!! There was always a crowd at Rosemont. This was a highlight to my spring as Paducah was a distance to drive. If cost was a problem why didn’t they look into Rockford or Dekalb.

/ March 17, 2011I’m so sorry to hear the quilt show will not be in Chicago. I always looked forward to attending every year. It seems there aren’t any big quilt shows in the Chicago area anymore. WHAT A SHAME. Too costly to travel these days. I guess I’ll have to miss it.
