We just got back from the show; the quilts were awesome.  Due to the high water  in the river by Paducah, the number of attendants was way down.  We were able to get right into any restaurant. No waiting; no lines out the doors.

Online Tutorials using Layer Cake and Jelly Roll Fabrics in Quilts

Layer cake and jelly roll are now  pre-cut fabrics that you can purchase and use in making fast and easy quilts.  The layer cake fabric is cut to a 10″ square; the jelly roll is 2  1/2″ wide by 40″ long.

These two online YouTube tutorials show the making of two fast and easy quilts using layer cakes and jelly rolls.

The first is a variation of a rail fence design: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNP8T8p9tuc&feature=channel

The second is an attractive design: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7p7mPwCptfQ&feature=related

The tutorials are done by Missouri Quilt Company, with which I have no affiliation.  I just want to try making a quilt using these products.

The new venue for the International Quilt Festival’s “Celebrate Spring” will be in Cincinnati, Ohio,  April 8 – 11, 2011, at the Duke Energy Convention Center with the Preview Night on Thursday, April 7th.  It had been in the Chicago area at the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont for eight years.

This event has been a fabulous show while in the Chicago area, and it is expected to continue as such in Cincinnati.

My quilt, Imagine, will be shown in Special Exhibit “In Full Bloom.”
