In August 2012, Mary Buvia of Greenwood, Indiana, exhibited a collection of many of her beautiful quilts at the American Quilter’s Society Grand Rapids, Michigan, Show. As the Museum celebrates its 35-year history, this special exhibition draws from the permanent collection and showcases an exciting variety of quilts and textiles. Featured are some of the important early and historic quilts in the collection, along with recent acquisitions of contemporary fiber art, costume, and ethnic textiles. This  exhibit  looks at the range of textile traditions and their important role as objects of utility, beauty, and inspired artistry.
