The American Quilter’s Society’s  Meredith Schroeder is the 2013 Inductee to The Quilters Hall of Fame.  This award is presented every year by The Quilters Hall of Fame to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the world of quilting.Read what the Quilters Hall of Fame had to say about Meredith.

 “Donna Maureen Stader: A Retrospective”  is currently showing at the University of Indianapolis Christel DeHaan Gallery through February 8, 2012,   with a reception this evening – Friday, January 25, from 4 – 6 p.m. that is open to the public. Donna was a friend  of many years, who passed away last year.  We were in Left of Center and INfiber, both fiber art groups in the Indianapolis area.

Donna Stader lived in Indianapolis most of her life and was a multimedia Artist and Educator for 32 years before retiring. She was a founding member of the Art Quilt Network and exhibited her fiber work internationally. Her inspirations came from history, literature, and folklore.

“Colors That Complement: Red and Green Quilts” is at  the Grout Museum’s 20th Annual Quilt exhibit in Waterloo, Iowa, on until April 6, 2013 . Red and green fabrics were used in these quilt. The quilts were popular with many early to mid-19th century quilters, who often considered the red and green quilt their best work. Learn the history and reasons behind these quilts whose colors have set them apart in a class of their own.


“Off the Wall: Maverick Quilts” at National Cowgirl Museum, Fort Worth, Texas, January 17 through March 27, 2013

This innovative exhibition from The Quilt Complex is making its debut at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame.

Paired alongside a traditional quilt pattern, these “maverick” quilts display an unusual twist on the ordinary. On display will be 30 quilts spanning 100 years, from 1850 to 1950.
