“Family and Friends: Quilts and Their Connections” Opens March 22, 2010, at Lancaster Quilt and Textile Museum in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

The Lancaster Quilt and Textile Museum reopens for their 2010 season on Monday March 22, 2010.  In addition to the 30 antique Lancaster County Amish quilts that are always on display in this classic 1912 bank building,  there will be a special exhibit in their “special exhibits” rooms, “Family and Friends: Quilts and Their Connections”.

The exhibit will show through December 31, 2010.

The exhibition will close briefly  from August 2 – 9th, when the second rotation of quilts is installed.

“Layers: Unfolding the Stories of Chester County Quilts #3” will be on from February 26, 2010 – September 11, 2010.   This is  the third and  final installation of Chester County community owned quilts that  will be placed on view.

About 50 quilts are in the exhibit “Layers:  Unfolding the Stories of Chester County Quilts #3”  of  West Chester, Pennsylvania.

 The largest quilt show in the world, Tokyo's International Great Quilt Show, is held annually in Japan.  This year more than 220,000 people attended the show, which was last month.
