Police Hopeful to Solve Murder through Mystery Quilt Found on Body

February 9, 2014

Police are hopeful of finding the murderer of Cathy Zimmer, San Jose, California, whose murder occurred twenty-five years ago, through a mystery quilt that was covering her body.  The quilt did not belong to anyone in the family  and no one knowing the victim recognized the quilt either.

Mrs. Zimmer, who was thirty-eight,  disappeared on March 8, 1989, in San Jose, and her body covered by the quilt, was found a couple of days later on the floor in the back seat of her car.

Do you recognize this quilt?

The article appeared in a couple of locations.  Here is the one I read today:

Karen Nyberg, NASA Astronaut, Invites You to Make a Star Quilt Block

February 6, 2014

Karen Nyberg, NASA astronaut, is a quilt maker, too.  I have posted about her before.

While on board the International Space Station, Nyberg created a star-themed quilt block that returned to earth with her. Her block will be combined with blocks that other quitlers have made to create a quilt that will be displayed at the 2014 International Quilt Festival in Houston. (See a video of Karen Nyberg–with her block–on board the ISS!)
